1 · We Heard You

I Will Sponsor You Through College

Your Promise, the Day Paint Like a Girl Began

It started on a dirt road with three young women who had finished high school and had no one to sponsor them through college. You made them a promise before you had a plan, and you've kept it.

What That Promise Has Grown Into

4students became CNAs last year.

12students are in college right now.

7elementary schools get tuition help for the students who need it most.

1mobile STEM pilot, approved by the Department of Education.

Your Mission, in Your Words

"Empowering students through education, support, and fun-filled fellowship."

Belonging First

You told us that anyone coming out of poverty needs to belong before anything else can take root. That's why family beyond biology runs through everything you do.

The Young People Lead

You let them lead, so the office we build will be one your team runs, with their work easy to see.

Faith at the Center

Faith in God's promises sits at the heart of Paint Like a Girl, and it shapes how your team serves.

This Year, From Your Own Page

Your Team Shows Up Every Month

We went through your page, and here's some of what your team did this year. This is the kind of proof funders look for.

  1. Vacation Bible School, four sessions and a graduation day.
  2. Helped a local elementary school get ready for the new school year.
  3. Marched in the town's 78th anniversary parade.
  4. Youth basketball championships for under-21 and under-18.
  5. Took part in the district school press conference.
  6. Delivered books and reading materials to a local elementary school.
  7. Donated paint to another local school, which thanked the team publicly.
2 · Where Things Stand Today

The Work Is Strong,
but the Office Hasn't Caught Up Yet

This is what happens when the work grows faster than anyone planned. Here's where things stand, and where each piece is headed.

Website

Your web address, paintlikeagirlinc.org, is available again. Once it's registered again, everyone who hears about your work will have a place to find you and give.

Records

Your letters, school documents, and partner records are some of your strongest proof, and right now they live on paper. We'll bring them online so they're easy to find and share, with a printed copy whenever you need one.

Your Story

Your Facebook page carries your story today, and your team keeps it full of life. Facebook is borrowed space, though. Your website will give every program a home that belongs to Paint Like a Girl.

Giving

For three years, this work has been carried by personal funds. There's no donate button yet, so the people who want to help don't have a way in. That's one of the first things we'll change.

3 · How it All Connects

How Your Work Comes Full Circle

The Paint Like a Girl circle Your team serves schools and families. Your website and social media tell the story. Supporters and grants give. And the giving funds more service, which brings the circle back to the start.
